mirth, monday + mimosas
mirth
Okay y’all. Coming at you photo journal style this week. With all things mirth. After a rainy week, we managed to receive a rare sunny day on Friday, the day of our shoot. We started in villefranche with some overcast boatside shots, and the sun peeked out just as we started bringing out the bright colors. We took a long lunch in Nice when Charlotte decided she would not be accepting a bottle as a form of food. We hopped across rocks and drew the eye of many wandering tourists and capped off the day windchapped, back in our warm coats, as the sun set gloriously along the mediterranean.
Saturday, we shot more film, wandered through old town and eventually hid from the rain for a long lunch with rosé, tarte au citron and their cookie baked in a cast iron(which was initially compared to the pizookie at Chili’s and we can confirm is 100x better).
Coming at you this week with a glimpse from my bedroom mirror, complete with clothes piled on the bed from getting dressed. My friend Katie (mirth co-founder) brought American chex mix, mac & cheese, tate’s cookies, and chocolate to last me for a while but most importantly a fun lil haul from mirth’s current resort collection. (needless to say she’s invited back).
monday
Neilson came home Monday night, bruised from a very rainy crash in Sunday’s race, and got to dance with Charlotte in the kitchen before she went to sleep. He was here yesterday and between rain showers we had Chinese noodles, picked up baked goods and paused for a coffee while waiting. Then, we hunkered down for the evening while Neilson repacked and Charlotte and I danced around the living room because around 5:45 every evening when the witching hour is upon us, Taylor Swift always comes to the rescue. And an early bedtime.
Fast forward less than a day and he’s already off again for a racing block in Italy.
We can do this. 💪🏼 Gotta keep repeating this mantra to myself.
mimosas
In France, January-March is mimosa season. People walk around the market with bouquets of flowering yellow branches that leave the dreamiest scent in your home. they grow on trees and there’s actually a village here called bormes les mimosas with a mimosa walk which is on my bucket list to go to one of these days.
Did I mention that mimosas perfectly match the gold in mirth’s resort collection?
There we have it. the golden thread to tie this all together.
Until next week! xf
