packing up
Good morning! We’ve survived a tornado and Texas heat, and just need to make it past this head cold now before we head back to Nice on Monday. We’re anticipating a very warm weekend either spent in ac or in pool water. cue melting emoji**
shopping roundup
Thought I’d do a round up of my American shopping finds (full list here). At this point I’m not entirely sure they’ll fit their way back into the suitcase, but only time will tell.
A visit to Mirth and their spring/summer collections. The perfect pops of coral and white eyelet. A breezy sundress that I toss on to feel put together but won’t show marks from messy baby hands.
A pair of Madewell jeans since I conveniently forgot to pack any pants for this trip. Super comfy and I swear people always ask where they’re from.
A Jenni Kayne sweater and eyeing this one during their Memorial Day sale…
A kd weave longtan from her new clothing collection! Easy, breezy and I took the slip that goes under it as well. A little long on me so I pair it with a belt.
Okay, I’m so behind but just started following Olympia Gayot on insta. I knew j. crew was having a comeback but she sealed the deal. Found this linen number and a little vest to style with skirts/pants this summer.
Picked this dôen dress from their Mothers day sale and looking forward to styling it in slightly cooler summer temps in Nice.
Target picks-tank tops, workout shorts, sports bra, and these strappy sandals. Also stocked up on razors and shampoo to take back 😅 Very tempted by their tkees knockoffs, but I can’t wear shoes this unsupportive anymore.
gap x doen- had to dip my toes in since I was here. Got this eyelet skirt which is basically in every pinterest photo I’ve saved in the last few months. And these tanks in 3 colors because they’re crazy soft and don’t require a different bra.
This Freya hat is so so special! I’ve gotten to know the freya gals since they share space with Mirth, and the leather strap and chamomile embroidery are just **chefs kiss.
A beaded necklace from Britt’s Funky Stitch. A former embroidery student of my mom’s, she was so quick to send me pics of her inventory and I designed the necklace and she had it mailed off within the day.
Ordered this tinted lip sunscreen and untinted from Mally’s summer amazon picks.
**Some of these items are gifted from brands that I’ve built relationships with over time. I feel strongly that I would only share things if I had supported the brand before receiving their products as a gift.
plane packing
Preparing myself for the return flight with the help of Amazon and some friends’ recommendations on my side.
Saved them all here but a few favorites:
fidget spinner thingy’s from amazon
a mini backpack for Charlotte who will obviously be wearing this herself.
board books, current obsession is crinkly books
snacks, snacks, snacks-puffed snacks, pouches, and this bento box full of fruits and veg
Curious about Taking Cara Babies new travel guide, but braving it on our own for this trip.
I carry a backpack with the small amount of items for myself-laptop, camera, chargers, film, and a pouch with kindle, airpods and passports. And then prep my longchamp pliage as the full baby ready bag. Sleepsack, snacks, toys, diapers, pajamas.
My rule of thumb is that nothing is free falling in the suitcase or carry-ons. Everything is in a packing cube or clear pouch or pouch of some kind. That way it’s separated by category.
