not just another gift guide
My inbox seems to be inundated with gift guides and and *never before seen* discounts and sales. Sometimes the holiday season can feel a bit like a never ending drain.
Over at the Powless house following our thanksgiving jaunt to Florida, we’ve put up our trees and been decking the halls. I dried oranges to make a garland and tied bells to twine to make some jingly decor. I hung ribbons over the back of a closet door to make a hanging spot for our christmas cards and the fridge is stocked with costco sized eggnog.
Our table is dressed with vintage christmas tablecloths, and the mantle is filled with various brass candlesticks holding red tapered candles.
In the buzz of the holiday cheer, I’ve been cozying up our house and burning pine scented candles. I love drinking lattes from my cath kidston christmas mugs in the morning and wrapping up little gifts to take to friends.
lately, i’ve been dreaming about holiday dressing and piecing together festive, yet practical outfits. How to breathe fresh life into pieces in my closet without getting *new* everything.
the answers I’ve come up with:
silver accessories-shoes, purses, jewelry
sweatshirts with sparkly skirts
pops of red-nails, lipstick, candles
lately
sofia richie’s amazon kids line
artifact uprising photo books as christmas gifts
this victoria beckham posh balm in fleur
my black friday lake pajamas lounge set purchase
sipping hot cocoa by the tree
hanging tinsel and playing christmas records
tying bells onto holiday gifts
playing teatime and baby dolls with Charlotte
Heading to Austin this weekend for a girls trip to celebrate my mom’s birthday! We’ve got cold weather and sunshine on our side. wishing everyone a happy weekend. xxf
